Royal College of Music: the historic home of the London Choral Competition 2027
28 October 2026 ยท 15:00 London

Some stages carry history in every board. The Royal College of Music, our host for the London Choral Competition 2027 - Sing for the Crown!, is one of them.
Founded in 1882 under the patronage of the then Prince of Wales, the College stands in South Kensington, directly opposite the Royal Albert Hall. Its red-brick building, with its tall towers, has trained generations of musicians, including Gustav Holst, Ralph Vaughan Williams and Benjamin Britten, and remains one of the world's leading conservatoires.
On 16 July 2027, choirs in the Secular (Category A) and Children's (Category D) categories perform in the Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall, a warm, wood-panelled hall prized for its clear and generous acoustic.

On 17 July 2027, the Britten Theatre hosts the Grand Prix Show, where the top-performing choirs compete for the London Choral Crown, followed by the Festive Gala Concert, winner announcements and the official Crowning Ceremony.

For singers, this means performing where great British musicians studied, in halls built for the voice, in the heart of London's cultural quarter beside museums, parks and the Royal Albert Hall.
